🍦 A Buffalo Must-Try

🍦 A Buffalo Must-Try|Ice Cream Even Better Than the Wings at Lake's Effect 🍨 During my trip to Buffalo, I discovered an ice cream shop absolutely worth a special trip—Lake's Effect! Even though photos at night came out a bit muddy (low light doesn't do it justice…), that didn’t stop it from becoming my top pick—this might be the best ice cream I’ve had in the U.S.! ❤️‍🔥 ✨ Location & Vibe The biggest draw here is the creative, non-artificial flavors! Unlike typical American ice cream shops that stick to chocolate, caramel, and cookies & cream, Lake's Effect offers unexpected combos like: 🧈 Butterbeer 🌙 Blue Moon 🍵 London Fog ⚫ Black Sesame If you can’t decide, you can ask for samples—so thoughtful! 🌟 My Top Picks I tried several flavors and ended up taking home three winners, each memorable in its own way: 1️⃣ Dubai Chocolate Bar Since Dubai chocolate went viral, many places have tried to replicate it, but few capture its essence. Here, not only did they nail it—they improved it! The ice cream’s cool temperature perfectly balances the original’s sweetness (which can be too much for some). It’s packed with pistachio breadcrumbs that stay surprisingly crispy inside the creamy base. Who would expect crunchy crumbs in such a moist ice cream? Pure redemption 😭. The chocolate flavor is deep and rich—like eating a frozen chocolate bar. 2️⃣ Steamworks (Turkish Coffee) Not sure about the name, but the description says Turkish coffee. Compared to regular coffee ice cream (like Van Leeuwen’s Coffee Affogato), this one has a deeper roasted, almost bittersweet aroma that grows on you with every bite. A must for coffee lovers! 3️⃣ London Fog If you’re like me and find the lavender in a classic London Fog a bit overwhelming, you have to try this ice cream version! It keeps the floral scent but softens the sharpness, resulting in a smooth, balanced, and utterly creamy treat. 💜 💚 Other Flavors Sampled Black Sesame: Highly recommended online, but to me it tasted more like a black sesame candy (think Xu Fu Ji sesame crunch) than freshly ground sesame paste. Butterbeer: Not much beer flavor came through, and the butter notes were subtle—just okay Blue Moon: A very abstract flavor—light and cheerful but more like candy than a classic ice cream profile. ❄️ A Cute Detail The little snowflake logo on the sign is adorable! At night, there’s also a flowing water-wave light effect that adds to the atmosphere. All in all, if you’re in Buffalo, add Lake's Effect to your must-eat list—right next to the wings. The creativity and care here are totally worth the trip! #buffalo#icecream#foodexploration#dubaichocolate#buffalofood#creativeicecream#foodreview
