Terrible. I understand as a business owner increasing paying younger staff convienances the business by lowering the marigin, that being said what is being done to convienance the community? I stood in this shop for 5 minutes around closing time without so much as a “hello” . The associates kind of all just looked at me ,whilst they talked about comic books or whatever tik tok trend is going on now. until I noticed there was a handwritten (transparent) sign thrown on the counter that read “only taking outside orders “I feel that any staff irregardless of age should receive some form of quality customer service training.
I came on here to leave an account of my individual experience but upon a review of how the business responded to the newest reviewer , I see the Apple doesn’t fall far from the ice cream shop. If a person is telling you that the inability to house or provide an extra lot on your property is a direct inconvienance to them we shouldn’t see that as a “touché” moment, we should look inward and think about what the customer is telling us. Your response was very defensive and shows your lack to actually do what you need to as a local business… cater to the community .
Wouldn’t recommend this place if you have :Back problems;Knee problems;Hip problems or Young children. Over priced novelty. Not vegan...
Read moreMy review isn’t on the establishments food but rather on their infrastructure. Lake effect ice cream provides quality ice cream to the neighborhood but doesn’t have the infrastructure capacity necessary to handle the amount of people that come to this place thus inconveniencing the block of people who live on the block with people who take the parking spots as well as illegally park and block our driveways
My review clearly shows that I have 5 stars across atmosphere, service, and food with a 2 over star rating because of my explained message.
What’s unfair is how the customers that patron here have no regard to people who live on this block. They block our drive ways, over crowd our available parking, and when was the last time lake effect ice cream owners acknowledged this inconvenience on those who live on the block. Food for thought, as an act of good gesture what lake effect can do is provide those who live on the block with coupons for discounted ice cream or coupons for a few free ice creams as a “I’m sorry that our establishment may hinder your ability to park and leave your driveways during our...
Read moreI was really impressed with the menu selection, and the prices when I saw the amount of ice cream I got for just $5. I ordered 3 scoops: Black Sesame (delicious), Whiskey Brown Sugar (Yummy), and Silver Cloud Vanilla (good). I travel with 2 little dogs. One wasn't interested in the ice-cream at all, and she's very finicky. The other one loves the Black Sesame.
This is a chain ice-cream shop in NY, and after talking to the owner, I learned that the ice-cream are made with factory farming cow milk. I have visited many creameries on my travel, and I prefer consuming ice-cream that is either non-dairy or what I called, happy cow milk ice-cream, where the cows are roam free on pasture and are on a healthy diet. Factory Farmed animals live a very sad life, and often, they get abused by the factory workers. I was happy to learn that the owner is trying to move to pasture raised, but it will take some times because of the increase in cost in addition to increase cost of labor ($15 minimum wage) and the clientele is mostly blue collar. Which is all...
