A Compact Zoo: Roger Williams Park Zoo
šRhode Island may be the smallest state in the U.S., but its capital, Providence ā the state's most populous city ā is home to the expansive Roger Williams Park, šwhich includes the charming Roger Williams Park Zoo. Though not large in scale (covering about 16 hectares with just over 100 species), this zoo offers an intimate and thoughtfully designed experience. š±The zoo is divided into several themed zones, such as:North America Marco Poloās Adventures (featuring wildlife Marco Polo may have encountered in Asia) š±World of Adaptations (focused on species from Australia and Southeast Asia). Two areas left a particularly strong impression on me:Africaās Vast Beauty, which highlights African animals āFaces of the Rainforest, a tropical Americas exhibit that opened in 2018 šø Scenes from the zoo:Exterior of the Faces of the Rainforest pavilion.
