A Day at Martin Plage in Saint-Brieuc: Seafood Foraging Adventures! 🌊
March: Scallop season 🐚 May: Spider crabs 🦀 Biggest tides: August & September 🌊 At first, it was just me and Xiao Fang hunting for seafood 🦐🦞🦀... Then, the sea started hunting us instead! 😂 Anyway—thank you, Mother Nature! 🙏🏼 Special shoutout to the kind Chinese folks who shared all their foraging tips—way more helpful than the French officers measuring my clams to check if they hit the 10cm legal limit! (Yes, in France, you can get fined for undersized catches! 🚨) We met this lovely couple from Shenyang who run a massage shop in Paris—quiet but super genuine. When they found out it was our first time foraging, they gifted us a bunch of clams and crabs! 🦀❤️ Later, when the tide rushed in and nearly trapped us near the oyster beds, the husband panicked when he couldn’t find his wife, yelling across the beach! 😆 Finally, he borrowed my phone to call her, and we all made it back to the parking lot just in time. They even drove us to the station—my cold, dead ST heart warmed up a little that day LOL. ❤️🔥 Then there was this adorable guy from Wenzhou who not only taught us how to catch razor clams but also hooked us up with a whole plate of crabs before leaving! 🦀🍽️ Good people still exist, y’all. 🫶🏼 #ChineseHelpingChinese #SeafoodForagingInFrance #FeastFromTheSea #SheWantsToDieButAlsoGoToParis 😂
