🗽 A Day Trip to Des Moines | Labor Day Adventure!
Even though I’m a self-proclaimed “village person,” I decided to explore Des Moines this Labor Day – and it was totally worth it! Here’s how I spent my day: 🏛️ Iowa State Capitol A stunning, gold-domed building that shines under the sun! ✨ Though it was closed for Labor Day, the hill behind it offers a panoramic view of downtown Des Moines. Honestly, the city looks pretty small from up there – but charming! 🎨 Pappajohn Sculpture Park This outdoor sculpture park is free, open 24/7, and full of quirky, abstract art! Some pieces were hilarious, some were mind-bending – perfect for photos and laughs. 📸🤪 🛍️ Jordan Creek Town Center A huge, modern mall with everything you need! I spotted an orange Stitch and a green Kuromi – so cute! 😈🛒 Great for shopping, eating, and just wandering around. 🍲 K-Pot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot One of the few places open on Labor Day! The AYCE BBQ and hot pot were decent – though the grill fire was too strong (my meat was charred outside and raw inside 😅). Still, a fun experience! 🧡 Final Thoughts: Des Moines may be small, but it’s packed with personality! Perfect for a day trip if you’re in Iowa. #DesMoines #Iowa #LaborDay #TravelDiary #SculpturePark #KPOT #DayTrip
