A Day Trip to Oxford | The Answer Lies in the Books 🪄

Took the train from London to Oxford – only about an hour away! Used my 16-25 Railcard for an open return ticket: £19.8 💷 🗺️ Highly recommend the route shared by a fellow traveler– it’s perfect for hitting all the sights without backtracking! ⏳ Right outside the station, we stumbled upon a market selling fruits, veggies, and snacks. Prices were so cheap compared to London – strawberries £3.5 for 2 boxes, mangoes £1.99 for 3! But be careful: check if the price is per item or per kg! We picked a box of lychees marked £3, thinking it was for the whole box… but it was by weight 😅 Ended up paying over £9 – a fruity ambush! But hey, they were delicious South African lychees. 📷 At the Bridge of Sighs, a friendly local offered to take a photo of us – so sweet! 🥢 Lunch at Zhang Ji Chinese Restaurant – we ordered Tofu with Sliced Fish and Guo Bao Rou. The fish tofu was delicious and great with rice (big portion too – we took leftovers home). The Guo Bao Rou was just okay – my Northern Chinese friend said it was a bit too sour and not very authentic. Average £18 per person with rice. 🌇 The weather was gorgeous, so we climbed St Mary’s Church around 4 PM for sunset. £5 to go up – totally worth it! The view was incredible and super photogenic 📸✨ ⌚️ We arrived around 10 AM and finished all the sights by 4:30 PM. Then we wandered around Westgate Shopping Centre before heading back to London. 🌷 The whole day was relaxed and peaceful – strolling through the academic town, soaking in the vibes. The streets are clean, the people are friendly… highly recommend a trip here after finishing your deadlines!
