A Day Trip to Takamatsu 🏮

Station 1: Mugino Genpei Plaza 🌸🍃 Many people might have passed by this place on their way from the station to the museum. After visiting the museum, it’s worth taking a closer look. Here, you’ll find two playground structures designed by Isamu Noguchi: Octetra (Octetra) and Play Sculpture. 🌸🍃The latter is similar to the one on Shodoshima. 🌿 🏮 Station 2: Sanshozan Park This small park is close to the museum but hidden in the alleyways. It features a seesaw with tires placed under the seats. 🌳 🏮 Station 3: Yashima Recxam Field (Yashima Stadium) A bit farther from the museum, at the foot of Yashima Mountain. 🌸🍃The three artworks are located near the West Entrance of the stadium. You can directly use Google Maps to locate the blue and white slide titled "Spiral Slide" by Isamu Noguchi. From there, you can spot the other two Play Cubes towards the playground. 🌸🍃When you start your museum tour, each visitor is given a small sticker. At first, I thought it was just the museum’s logo and didn’t know which way was the right side up. It wasn’t until I saw Noguchi’s signature on the Play Cube that I realized it says "i.n." 🌟 🌸🍃If you’re doing a day trip, I highly recommend finishing your tour by taking the bus to the top of Yashima for a breathtaking view of the Seto Inland Sea. End your day by visiting the garden of the Kagawa Prefectural Government Building in the city center—another creation by Isamu Noguchi. 🌇 #Takamatsu #IsamuNoguchi #NoguchiSculptures 🌟
