I’d heard so much about Junsei and their inspiring commitment to zero-waste cooking—and let me say, the experience did not disappoint! From the fresh, inventive dishes to their incredible selection of over 20 grilling styles, every moment felt thoughtful, flavorful, and truly special. We started with the Crab & Roe Chowder—absolutely packed with tender crab meat and bursts of savory roe! 🦀🍲 Each spoonful was rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. Next came the Grilled Scallops with King Oyster Mushrooms—a combination so heavenly, it felt like a celebration of the sea and earth. The scallops were perfectly seared, and the mushrooms brought a wonderful umami depth. 🍄🔥 We also tried: Yaki Onigiri – grilled rice balls with a spicy kick that made every bite irresistible 🍙🌶️ Shiso Maki – chicken skewers wrapped in shiso leaves, light, fragrant, and not at all oily 🍃🍗 Hand-Pulled Chicken Wings – crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside 🍗💥 Chicken Meatballs with Pasteurized Egg – sweet, savory, and wonderfully silky in texture 🥚🍡 Each dish was a testament to Junsei’s philosophy: respectful cooking, bold flavors, and no waste.
