Indulge in Authentic Japanese Yakitori, It's Absolutely Delicious! 🍢🇯🇵🤤
London's culinary scene has welcomed a restaurant that you simply can't afford to miss! We're talking about the buzzworthy JUNSEI, a dedicated establishment that serves up authentic Japanese yakitori. Stepping inside, the restaurant's minimalist, Japanese-inspired wooden decor transports you to the charming streets of Japan🏮
For the savvy diners, opting for a seat at the counter is a must 😏From there, you can witness the skilled chefs personally grilling the yakitori, creating a unique and flavorsome experience that is truly delightful👨🍳🔥👀
To start, we highly recommend the Akami & Wagyu Bites, an exquisite appetizer with three layers of deliciousness: a crispy bed of shiso rice at the bottom, wagyu tartare in the middle, and a savory, marinated akami on top. The combination of flavors and textures is incredibly satisfying! 😍
We opted for a yakitori set, which allowed us to select five different skewers. Our choices included ox tongue, chicken skin, chicken heart, chicken and leek skewer (negima), and chicken meatball with a raw egg yolk (tsukune). The set also came with a skewer of grilled potatoes and a bowl of rice 😋
The ox tongue yakitori was succulent and juicy, bursting with the rich flavors of beef🥩💦
The chicken skin skewer was grilled to perfection, resulting in a crispy and golden-brown delight. You simply can't resist it!🔥😍
The chicken heart offered a unique texture with its chewy bite, and the meat was tender and packed with flavor. It's undoubtedly a top choice for yakitori enthusiasts. ❤️🐔❤️
The chicken and leek skewer (negima) showcased a classic combination that was both refreshing and tender. It was absolutely delicious! 🍢😋
The chicken meatball with a raw egg yolk (tsukune) featured a perfect harmony of creamy yolk and tender chicken. Breaking the yolk and allowing it to coat the chicken skewer, combined with the soy sauce, created an incredibly satisfying and flavorful experience😋
In addition to the five yakitori skewers, we also had the pleasure of trying the Yaki Onigiri, a grilled rice ball🍙 The skilled chef prepared it right in front of us on a hotplate, resulting in a crispy outer layer while maintaining a fluffy and moist interior. It was a simple yet incredibly tasty treat. We also paired it with a perfectly cooked onsen tamago (hot spring egg) for dipping. It was an absolute delight!
The average cost per person is approximately £50, but the experience is worth every penny. It ultimately depends on your budget and personal preferences💰👌
JUNSEI impresses in every aspect, from its authentic culinary flavors, to its minimalist and comfortable decor, excellent service, and reasonable prices. We simply can't stop raving about this restaurant 🥰 We love it so much!!! :-*

Read moreIt was definitely a disappointing dining experience. Everything was a decent disappointment. I booked a table for three online and on arrival I was taken without choice to the bar position less than 50cm from the kitchen charcoal grill. When I requested to switch to another table that could accommodate three people I was told by the staff that if I switched places I can only have the table for 75 mins as the other table had already been booked by another guest. I'm very confused, I also have a reservation and don't have a choice of bar or table online. Why am I limited in time for dinning by simply asking to switch places? My reservation was at 7.15pm and by 8.30pm the staff really came to urge us to check the bill. However, according to Google Map, today's opening hours are only till to 9pm, so I'm curious if guests can really finish their meal in the next half hour? And there were two other tables of similar number of guests who arrived at the restaurant earlier than us, when we questioned the staff's behaviour of rushing us to pay he said that the other two tables will be asked to leave as well, but after we paid our bill the other guests were still continuing to add orders. My friend and I felt very disrespected and being treated in a very discriminatory manner as customers who were also dinning at the restaurant. It turns out I was right to make the request to switch positions. The restaurant was filled with smoke in the face of a large number of orders being placed. My friend's and my eyes are still sore and painful. I was worried about the staff having to work in this environment on a daily basis when we were already feeling sick after just 75 minutes of dinning in this environment.
Food was even a food crime level scam. My friend ordered a Ume Bellini(Ume means Plum in Japanese.) The cocktail didn't have a single hint of plum flavour and only with a single fresh Mulberry. There is a price difference between plums used for cocktails and fresh mulberry. Suspected replacing a food or ingredient with another substance that is similar but inferior. The tsukemono 漬物 (Japanese pickles) are not properly pickled, just fresh cucumbers, carrots and Daikon drizzled with a sour and salty sauce. The soy sauce on the crab rice had no flavour at all, only saltiness, and it was very salty. And the yolks had no yolk flavour at all, very puzzling wondering why they were served with crab rice. The overall price is high but the quality of the food is not worth it.
Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting proper Japanese food. As for the issue of Ume (plum and mulberry), we will seriously consider to give a report to the...
Read moreI was introduced to this rare Japanese Pearl called “Junsei”, a rare Yakitori Japanese Cuisine, in the Silvery Shell of Japanese Culinary Delights, of “Junsei” at Seymour Place, Marylebone District in the heart of London. Being my first visit to this restaurant, these are my personal experiences: It serves the rare outstanding Japanese Yakitori variety of dishes made from Chicken, Meat, Veggies, Eggs barbecued in special spices and secret recipe by the Head Chef, on Skewers. Catering for warm Japanese dishes, unlike Sushi and Sashimi, which are in every corner of London, while Japanese Yakitori restaurants are only 2 or 3 in London, according to my information. When I tasted the Quail Eggs marinated in special in-house ingredients with a secret recipe and Barbecued to such precision, that, as soon as I took the first bite, they just sort of melted in the mouth. Which not only tantalized my taste buds, but also kept my mind boggling as to how some of the dishes must’ve been prepared to give such a surprisingly unique & distinctive taste and feel. The Quail Eggs were not hardboiled, and soft enough to melt in the mouth, yet the wooden skewers could hold them, a technique which I had never come across before. This is just one dish among so many to describe in these few words. The ambiance is great, minimalistic, and cosy, with Stained Slate so artistically decorated with matching background lighting, that it gives a real feel of and warmth of a mini-Japan in this part of London. They’ve not left a single stone unturned when it comes to luxury and fine dining, by giving attention to each and every minute detail, which I’ve not seen in any other restaurant in London, is catered for, like for example, every table top is provided with twin hook under it, for facilities to hang the handbags, or shopping bags, or umbrellas, etc, instead of leaving them on the floor or chairs. The presentation and services are second to none, too. I wish the Management, Executives, & Staff of Junsei Restaurant, continued progress to attain the peak of success in their...
