A delightful surprise in a small town along the Niagara Falls route ๐
For dinner, we randomly searched for a spot on Google Maps. Honestly, we didnโt have high hopes for Japanese food in such a remote little town ๐ . But when we walked up to the restaurant and saw the Japanese signboard, plus the Japanese staff inside, we started to think maybe this could work. And after taking the first bite? We were definitely in for a wonderful surprise! ๐ฃ Masaki Sushi ๐ 60 Picton St, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON L0S 1J0, Canada We asked the staff to recommend dishes since we had no clue what to order โ and not a single one disappointed! The shrimp was tender, the seaweed salad was refreshing, and the lobster soup was rich and flavorful ๐ฆ๐ฅฃ. A special shoutout to the tuna tartare: the owner personally recommended it, saying the bluefin tuna was imported from Japan. You mix it with avocado first, then scoop it onto the provided taro chips โ chefโs kiss ๐ฉ๐ณ. Oh, and those taro chips? I almost ordered a second plate, they were that good! Just writing about this is making my mouth water ๐. Even the sushi, which was perfectly seasoned with great-quality fish, somehow paled in comparison to the other dishes โ thatโs how impressive everything was! We were stuffed by the end, but greedily ordered a matcha cheesecake anyway. Best decision ever! It was icy cold with a fragrant matcha flavor and a silky texture ๐ต. There was this mysterious topping that paired perfectly with the cake, keeping it from being too heavy. So good! ๐ฐ Value for money: Incredible. Appetizers were around 10+ CAD, sushi around 40+ CAD, and the cheesecake was only 6.5 CAD. Highly, highly recommend! ๐ฎ Ambience & service: Beautiful Japanese tableware, wooden Japanese-style decor, and attentive Japanese hospitality โ it all added to the charm. #NiagaraFalls #NiagaraOnTheLake #NiagaraFood #TorontoTravel #JapaneseFoodExploration #cows
