A Forgotten French Island in the South Pacific 🏝️

First Stop on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas South Pacific Cruise Nouméa feels like a very clean but extremely hot little island. Though small, it’s not walkable—way too scorching! ☀️🔥 Travel Tips: Disembarking was quick—no long queues! After getting off, shuttle buses take you to the tourist center, where you’ll find various tour options. 🚌 Terrible phone signal—Australian SIMs got no reception, and no roaming available. However, free Wi-Fi is available at the tourist center (but only there!). 📵💻 Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour (USD 15 / AUD 20) takes you around Numea with 4 stops (buses come every ~10 mins): (1) Local Market (closes at 11 AM, nothing special, just a regular market) (2) Shopping Mall (small, unimpressive, but has a supermarket if you need supplies) (3) Lemon Bay (most popular spot—water is clear, but the "beach" is hard coral rubble, painful to walk on! 🪨 The bay is tiny, and honestly… meh.) (4) Aquarium (looked small, so we skipped it 🥲) Final Thoughts: Nouméa is okay for a quick look—nice for photos, but honestly pretty boring and way too hot. If you’re on a cruise, hop off, explore a bit, then head back. Not worth flying here specially! We disembarked at 9 AM and were back by noon. ⏳ #Noumea #NewCaledonia #SouthPacific #RoyalCaribbean #CruiseLife #Australia #BeachVibes
