A gem of a restaurant that enhanced my time in Barcelona
💕Botafumeiro This restaurant was a treasure I discovered on Google Maps after feeling hungry again after eating at a Michelin-recommended place nearby. The staff here are super fun and kept us entertained. The restaurant stays open until the wee hours of the morning. 💕💕Named after the massive incense burner in the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, this seafood restaurant was founded by Moncho Neira in 1975. It’s spacious, spanning two floors, and combines Catalan and Galician cuisine. It’s now the flagship restaurant of a seafood chain called Moncho’s. 💕The restaurant is huge, with room after room leading to more dining areas that seem to go on forever. It can actually accommodate over three hundred diners, but it feels even larger, like a chaotic restaurant ghost town. There are lobster tanks, a bar, a kitchen, side rooms, stairs, and as you delve deeper into this place, you discover even more rooms. I have no idea how many staff work here, but it felt like I passed through a small army of waiters on my way to my table. 💕💕We ordered a seafood paella for two, a shrimp dish, and 2 glasses of sangria, totaling 170€. It’s a bit pricey, but the seafood was very fresh, making it a good spot. #WeekendDining #AtmosphericRestaurant #Food #RestaurantRecommendations #DateNight #TreasureRestaurant #MyFoodieCollection #BarcelonaDining
