A Genuine Tianjin-Style Breakfast Spot Near Rowland Heights! 😋

A friend recommended this Tianjin breakfast place near my home in a previous post. This weekend, my partner was craving Tianjin breakfast, so we headed over early Saturday morning for a kid-free meal! 🥢 As soon as you walk in, you can hear the owner’s authentic Tianjin-accented Mandarin. It was quite busy in the morning! We ordered using a self-service kiosk and got their signature dishes: beef shaomai, jianbing guozi, small wontons, tofu pudding, and soy milk. Since it’s a halal restaurant, their shaomai and wontons are made with pure beef filling! The shaomai had thin wrappers and were full of broth—delicious with a dip of vinegar. The wonton filling was also beef; a bit firm for my taste, but as someone who loves soupy dishes, I enjoyed it overall. 🥟 Tianjin Jianbing Guozi: You’ve got to try jianbing at a Tianjin spot! The crepe was golden and perfectly round, the egg was fragrant, and the crispy cracker inside was super crunchy. It was a large portion—we split one between the two of us. 🥞 Tofu Pudding: Tianjin-style tofu pudding includes sesame sauce! The tofu was silky, and the savory broth was so tasty—even as someone from southern China, I loved it. The soy milk paired well with youtiao (fried dough sticks) too. 🥛 When the owner had a free moment, I asked how long they’ve been open. He said just a few months—no wonder I hadn’t noticed it before! We were surprised to find a Tianjin breakfast spot in Walnut, just a 10-minute drive from home. We had a great experience and will definitely be back! 👍 H W Taste 380 N Lemon Ave, Walnut, CA 91789 Have you been to H W Taste or tried Tianjin-style breakfast elsewhere?
