A Hidden Gem Restaurant Recommendation in the Los Angeles Area đđ
This under-the-radar one-Michelin-star restaurant, Carusoâs, was recommended by a friend and is located within the Rosewood Miramar Beach hotel in Santa Barbara. It can be described as a seafood-Italian fusion restaurant, with ingredients sourced directly from local Santa Barbara fishermenâs catches and farmers' markets. đŁđ Snapper, shrimp, uni, abalone, halibut, thorny head⌠you can truly taste the freshness of the Pacific Ocean in every bite! đ˝ď¸ The added caviar is specially selected by the chef and imported directly from Italy. Personally, I found two of the Italian pasta dishes a bit heavy on the palateâone was overly salty, the other quite tangy. đ But the portions are seriously generousâwe left stuffed! The tasting menu, especially, offers great value compared to many LA restaurants. If youâre staying at the hotel, be sure to have the concierge make the reservationâitâs fast, and youâll likely get a great view! đ A major plus is the reasonably priced wine list, particularly the Burgundy selection. đˇ Seeing those prices gives you the urge to orderâbecause not drinking feels like a loss! This time, we tried a Grands Ăchezeaux, but maybe because it was too young? It felt very closedâeven after decanting, it didnât open up much beyond an initial burst of aroma. There were also some tartrate crystalsânot sure if itâs a barrel sediment or shipping issue. But the price was fair, so maybe next time Iâll bring friends and try again!
