As a Harry Potter fan, I came for Diagon Alley… but scaffolding ruined the vibe – no good photos! 😭 🚄 From Manchester (1.5hrs train) → 🚶♀️ Eat & Explore Route: 1️⃣ Lunch Noodle Lane 🍜 "Chinese soul, Chinese stomach" – a student-approved spot! (A tad salty for me.) 2️⃣ The Shambles York Ghosts 👻: 20-min queue → spent 30 mins picking gifts! Hidden "Phantom ghost" scored! Butterbeer The Potions Cauldron 🍺: Sweet, zero beer taste. HP merch store ("The Shop That Must Not Be Named") – wallet danger! 💸 3️⃣ York Minster ⛪️ "Biggest Gothic cathedral in the UK?" (Stunning!). Skipped tickets, chilled in the park instead – met Paddington Bear 🧸 + sunbathed ☀️. 4️⃣ Afternoon Tea Betty’s ☕ "Queen-approved" scones – posh & delicious! 5️⃣ Basque Cake Hype Check 🍰 Only the signature flavor impressed (others = meh + tooth-achingly sweet). 🚶♀️ Verdict: A cozy, scaffold-marred but still magical day! #YorkUK #HarryPotter #TravelDiaries #DayTrip #Park20Minutes #BritishCharm
