A Magical Night at Philadelphia Zoo π₯³π·π―π¦π¦©π§
When you're not snapping photos of planes βοΈ, here's how you can put that telephoto lens to good use π! Today, I attended the Members' Night at the Philadelphia Zoo. Normally, the zoo closes at 5 PM, but today it was exclusively open for members from 5 to 8 PM. The crowd was sparse, and it was the perfect time to visit when the animals are more active during dusk π. I mainly spotted elegant flamingos π¦©, some fierce but snoozing big cats like tigers π―, lions π¦, and snow leopards. There were also adorable little penguins π§, solemn bald eagles π¦ , vultures, and cows with impressively long horns. Hippos π¦ lounged in the water, while otters 𦦠scampered about. It rained halfway through βοΈ, so I took the chance to see gorillas π¦ and monkeys with luxuriously long fur π. At the zoo's small plaza today, there were displays of animal fur, deer antlers π¦, and jawbones for everyone to touch and feel. There was even a live band performance in the evening π΅, though I was too busy ogling the animals to notice. Being a zoo member has its perksβyou can bring one guest each visit, which means two admissions for the price of one. Plus, parking is free, and you'll recoup the membership cost in just two visits a year. There are also exclusive member-only events. The Philadelphia Zoo just celebrated its 150th anniversary, making it the oldest zoo in the United States π. The zoo is conveniently located near the University of Pennsylvania and University City, just a 10-minute taxi ride π awayβperfect for a day trip.
