π£ A Must-Try for the Kobe Roll! π
Azuki Sushi is an elevated sushi restaurant located near Balboa Park in Bankerβs Hill. Iβve been here twice in one month, and both experiences were fantastic! π The first time, we reserved an indoor table; the second time, we snagged a spot on the patio. I highly recommend booking in advance to secure an indoor table β it can get quite chilly outside (though they do provide heaters!). Also, try to arrive a bit early β parking in the area can be a nightmare depending on when you go. ππ¨ Atmosphere & Service: The interior feels upscale and modern, with low lighting and two levels. The patio has the same chic vibe, but the sloped ground and cold weather made it less ideal. Service was excellent both times β our server was attentive, and our food and drinks arrived quickly. π«π¨βπ³ Food Highlights: Crispy Rice & Spicy Tuna ($18) β 4 pieces; the perfect starter. Iβd order this again in a heartbeat! ππ₯ Fried Chicken Bites ($15) β recommended by our server as an off-menu alternative. Crispy, flavorful, and lightly spicy (though I barely noticed the heat). ππ Kobe Roll ($28) β topped with beautifully seared A5 Wagyu. My absolute favorite roll! π₯©π Scorpion Roll ($21) β featuring crispy tempura soft-shell crab. My second favorite after the Kobe! π¦β¨ Sunshine Roll ($22) β salmon and avocado. Tasty, but I wish the toppings were more evenly distributed. π₯π£ You Gotta Be Kidding Me Roll ($28) β served uniquely in a bowl with fried leeks. The leeks were great, but the roll itself lacked flavor. π₯£π Uni Toast ($25) β only 2 pieces. The chopped toro overwhelmed the uni β not worth the price for me. πβ Classic Sashimi ($38) β 12 decent pieces, but Iβd skip it next time. πβοΈ Overall: With two great visits under my belt, I know Iβll be returning to Azuki Sushi again and again! Itβs a stylish spot with some standout rolls and a warm, professional vibe. Canβt wait to go back! ππ #AzukiSushi #KobeRoll #BankersHill #BalboaPark #SushiLovers #UpscaleDining #MustTry #FoodieReview
