A Must-Try Hidden Gem for Thai Cuisine in Geneva
Just a three-minute walk from the train station, there’s a Thai restaurant that my friend says tastes almost identical to what you’d find in Thailand. It’s located right across from Xiang Yu, and even if you just walk in, there’s usually seating available.😋 Soup Tom Yam (Tom Yum Soup)🍲 The Tom Yum soup is tangy with a hint of spiciness, perfectly balanced. The first taste is an intense burst of Tom Yum flavor, finishing with a refreshing coconut milk aroma. The layered flavors are incredibly addictive. Pad Thai (Thai Fried Rice Noodles)🍜 The Pad Thai is savory with a touch of sweetness. The shrimp are plump and large, paired with crispy bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. It’s not only refreshing but also incredibly aromatic. Even three foreigners at the next table each ordered a plate of Pad Thai. Curry Jaune avec Poulet (Yellow Curry with Chicken) The yellow curry chicken is not overly spicy. It has a rich and creamy texture. As you eat more, the spices kick in with a subtle spiciness. The chicken is sliced, not chunked, and there are cucumber slices in the curry, which is quite a unique and delightful combination. Riz Gluant Mangue (Mango Sticky Rice) The mango sticky rice is quite classic. The mango has the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness, paired with rich coconut milk. It’s a delicious and satisfying dessert. It’s rare that there’s no mandatory drink order here. By the time we left, there was already a long line forming at the entrance. If you’re unsure, you can call ahead to check. 💰Per-person cost: 40+ CHF Les Amis Asia Dinner 📍Rue de Monthoux 55, 1201 Genève #ThaiFood #SwissTravel #SwissCuisine #Geneva #GenevaFood #GenevaTravel #Switzerland #GenevaSwitzerland
