A Mysterious Tarot-Themed Speakeasy Hidden on King Street!
📍XXX (Located below Little Sister) - 102 Portland St, Toronto, ON M5V 2N2 ⏰ XXX, a hidden speakeasy on King St! Limited seating and a cozy space—make sure to book on Resy and select "XXX Speakeasy"! The whole experience is super fun and mysterious! 🎭 First, you check in at Little Sister upstairs and wait for your turn. Once a spot opens up, the host will guide you downstairs. Each guest gets to draw a tarot card 🃏—then, you must knock on the speakeasy’s door with your card in hand. Only when the bartender personally opens the door can you enter! The whole ritual feels super secretive, just like a true speakeasy should be! We visited on the eve of a long weekend, so it was packed! 🏙️💨 We waited about an hour, but hanging out at Little Sister wasn’t bad—their drinks are actually pretty good too! 👌🏻 Fun fact: The owner of this place is actually the same Irish gentleman who ran the famous Gift Shop bar! 🍀 So, the vibe, glassware, and cocktail style here are very similar—if you loved Gift Shop, you’ll definitely love this spot. We tried two cocktails this time: ⸻ 🐜 Ants on a Log Pisco Gobernador, Leblon cachaça, guava, soursop, lemon, lime, black ant tincture, egg white, Peychaud’s bitters, garnished with bitters and South American black ants. This is one of their most famous (and creepy!) signature drinks! 🕷️ The menu literally says “black ants,” and yes—they’re real ants! 🐜 The ants add a crunchy, bitter twist, which is surprisingly fascinating! 🌺 Blue Hawaiian Havana Club 3-year rum, house-made blue curaçao, coconut syrup, pineapple juice. This tropical classic was invented in 1957 by Harry Yee at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Resort—pure beach vibes! 🏝️ One sip, and you’ll feel like you’re lounging on the sand, with sweet coconut and pineapple flavors melting all your stress away. 🍍✨ #TorontoLife #TorontoFood #TorontoBars #TorontoExploration #Cocktail
