A niche strawberry farm in Ontario ๐Ÿงบ | A day as a farm girl ๐Ÿ“

After several heavy rains in June, the strawberry season has finally arrived ๐Ÿ“ Strawberry picking farms near Waterloo are all closed on Sundays.๐Ÿต๏ธ๐Ÿต๏ธ After searching for a long time, I found that Brandwood Farms in Brantford is open daily!๐ŸŒท Monday to Saturday: 9am-6pm๐ŸŒต Sunday: 10am-5pm๐ŸŒณ There's no weighing after picking. The $4 basket already includes the price of the strawberries. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“ There are two larger basket options, but I forgot how much they cost. Compared to other farms, the price here is very affordable.๐Ÿก The farm store and the picking field are at two different addresses, a 5-minute drive apart.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ If you're heading straight to the picking field, make sure to note this address: 89 St George Rd, Paris, ON N3L 3E1๐Ÿ‡ The guy at the checkout booth was very friendly. You can leave a little tip when you leave. It's really not easy working in such hot weather, and a few dollars can cover a farmer's meal!๐Ÿ’ Moreover, this farm has very few people. The strawberry yield is quite abundant (you can taste them in the field).๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€ It's estimated that they can be picked for another 3 or 4 weeks. I personally think they're very sweet, better than those in the supermarket. They should be even sweeter after absorbing enough rainwater, but they don't keep well. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ You have to eat them all within a day or two after picking. If you're worried about them going bad, you can pick fewer.๐Ÿ‘ฃ They grow about 4 or 5 varieties of strawberries. Two of them are currently in season. It's said that another two varieties will ripen in August.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ BTW, remember to choose a cooler time to go picking. Don't go on a 30-degree day like we did, turning it into a fat-burning session :)๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ ๐Ÿฎ: After picking strawberries, you can go to the popular Little Brown Cow nearby to get fresh milk. A small bottle is $4, a large bottle is $10.๐Ÿ’ฐ It needs to be finished within a week after opening. The milk๐Ÿฅ› has a rich flavor, which lives up to its reputation. It's very similar to the milk my mom used to get from the ranch for me when I was a kid. I even successfully made double-skin milk with it. The milk from the supermarket has lower milk๐Ÿฅ› fat content. ๐Ÿฅ›: The chocolate flavor is also delicious, $3 a bottle, very rich. I finished it quickly before even getting home. โ˜Ž๏ธ: If I'm not mistaken, Brantford is also the birthplace of the telephone. It's the hometown of Bell, the inventor of the telephone. There's a memorial park for him in the downtown area. If you're interested, you can drop by on the way. Since you're already here, why not?๐Ÿคถ๐Ÿคถ Personally, I think it's quite amazing to see a figure from elementary school textbooks come to life in reality.๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ  ๐Ÿฆซ: After returning home, I found a baby groundhog in the garage that couldn't move. I thought its leg was broken. The next day, we took it to the humane society for help. Before we left, the doctor asked where it was injured.โ˜”โ˜” After watching the video and doing an examination, the doctor confirmed that it was fine. It couldn't walk๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ‘ฃ because its feet got burned by the hot weather. Hahaha. #WaterlooLife #FarmPicking #StrawberrySeason
