Healing Deer – Great Weekend Getaway in Waterloo
Today we took our Qiqi to the deer park. It's less than an hour's drive from Waterloo – Waterford Deer Park (1 Concession 8 Townsend, Waterford, ON N0E 1Y0). First, we went to Little Brown Cow (234 Cockshutt Rd, Brantford, ON N3R 0C1) to buy carrots to feed the deer. 🦒🦒 We actually brought marshmallows and corn with us, but forgot to take out the marshmallows when we got there.🐳 🦕We also bought milk at the small farm market. Their milk is fresh and high-fat, with over 5.6% fat content. A 4L bottle of milk plus a milk container costs ten dollars.💵 The family in front of us actually bought 7 or 8 containers. We were worried that by the time it was our turn, the milk would be sold out. 🦑 🕊️🕊️The store also has other specialty products; the lemon cake and cheese are good. My biggest concern was that the lemon cake might contain cinnamon, but after smelling it and checking the ingredients, there was none – so lucky!🐾 🌹Most homemade bread and cakes around here are loaded with cinnamon, which I'm most afraid of. Their other baked cakes all have it, but somehow they skipped the cinnamon in my lemon cake.🏵️🏵️ Also, highly recommend the chocolate milk – rich, fragrant, not too sweet, and super smooth. It's the best chocolate milk I've ever had, on a whole different level from what you get in supermarkets. Regretting buying only a medium bottle; I should have gotten the largest one. There's also the store clerk's dog – it looks a bit intimidating but is very friendly. 🌷🌷 🌯🌯Our Qiqi kept sneaking glances, wanting to play with it. The dog was super calm. The store also sells dried meat treats that dogs love. But when paying, you need to keep track of the price in your head – the clerk always overcharges by a few dollars. 💵 We just took it as a tip for the clerk's dog.🐶 After shopping, we headed to the deer park. As soon as we got on the road, we ran into a biker gang – a really long line of motorcycles. I just said, "I wonder if these old guys on motorcycles will crash," and then they did. 🍏🍏 It caused a traffic jam, so we quickly turned around and took another route.🥬🥬 When we arrived at the deer park, we parked the car but couldn't see a single deer. Another family was also waiting eagerly. Then a family who was leaving told us the deer were resting in another area. 👀👀 We hurried over to see those cute little angels. They were really beautiful and healthy. But they have a strong hierarchy – only the stags would come over to eat, while the does and fawns waited quietly. Our Qiqi was so excited watching us feed the deer with carrots that he wanted some too.👍👍 We all had a great time. The deer loved the sweet corn the most, eating it with great enthusiasm. 💕💕 They're strong – you have to be careful when feeding them, as they'll snatch the whole carrot in one go, unlike feeding the little white deer at home.🏠🏠 On the way back, we saw a big, beautiful lake where people were boating and fishing.🐟🐟 It's just a few minutes from the deer park – a chance to get up close with wildlife.🦉🦇🐺 #LittleDeer#CanadianLife#WaterlooLife
