A One-Day Tour of Bratislava
1️⃣ Overview 1. Transportation : The new and old districts of Bratislava are very close to each other, and most attractions can be explored on foot. 2. Eating : In the new district, there are two large complexes similar to those in China—Nivy and Eurovea. They offer a variety of dining options and supermarkets like Lidl and DM. 3. Accommodation : Staying in the old district may not be convenient if you have luggage. Consider staying in an Airbnb in a high-rise in the new district. Depending on the orientation, the higher floors offer great views or a view of the CBD.❤️❤️❤️ 4. Cost of Living : Compared to Germany and Austria (both using the euro), prices here are slightly lower. For example, a satisfying meal at McDonald's costs around 7-8 euros 2️⃣ One-Day Tour Recommendations 1. Morning : Sleep in and have lunch at the KFC on the 3rd floor of Nivy. The food here is delicious and reasonably priced, and they even serve Coca-Cola! 2. Afternoon : After lunch, walk along the Danube River to the entrance of the old district's theater. Start exploring from the central square of the old district. There are many landmarks worth visiting and plenty of photo opportunities. Check the sunset time; if there are more than two hours left, you can relax in one of the old district's cafés.😻😻😻 3. Two Hours Before Sunset : Head to the castle. I don't recommend buying a ticket to enter the castle. Instead, walk around the perimeter from north to south, or get close to the castle. The elevated position offers panoramic views of the old district and the Danube River. The white walls and red tiles make for great photos. There is also a souvenir shop at the exit where you can buy fridge magnets and other items. 4. One Hour Before Sunset : Leave the castle and head to the UFO Bridge (reserve more time during peak season due to crowds). Make sure to walk on the left side of the bridge. On the SNP Bridge, you should be able to see the sun reflecting off the Danube River. Start queuing at the base of the UFO. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance for around 10 euros (slightly cheaper for students during the off-season).😍😍😍 5. Sunset : If timed correctly, you should be able to reach the top of the UFO Bridge during sunset. Although the sunset direction is on the less scenic side, if there are any afterglow, taking aerial shots of the old and new districts and the Danube River can be very picturesque. 6. After the UFO Bridge : Walk back to the old district on the other side of the bridge. You should be able to see the lingering sunset 🌇 and the castle bathed in the afterglow. If you're hungry, consider dining at one of the complexes. I recommend the Sajado Food God restaurant at Eurovea. Their 20+ euro Chinese buffet and teppanyaki are quite good, and the cocktails are very unique. Finally, take a moment to admire the tram bridge at night. 3️⃣ Additional Notes - The itinerary does not include the Blue Church (I visited it but found it not particularly impressive). If you're interested, you can visit it before lunch. - The old district has many local specialties worth trying. - Have a pleasant journey! #Bratislava #BratislavaTravel #OneDayTour
