A Perfect December Hike in LA | Gould Mesa Trail 🌲🚶‍♀️

Trailhead: 📍 Gould Mesa Trailhead 5830 CA-2, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011, United States Park along the street, then walk 1 mile downhill to the Gould Mesa Trail Camp. From there, turn left and hike 1.8 miles to Brown Mountain Dam. The entire route is shaded by trees and follows a peaceful, bubbling creek — we crossed the water eight times before reaching the dam and waterfall! 💦🌿 I lost my balance once and got my left foot completely wet, but my husband stayed mostly dry. Many hikers simply walk right through the water, so wearing sturdy, grippy shoes you don’t mind getting wet is a smart move. We saw lots of happy dogs on the trail too — it’s definitely a pup‑friendly adventure! 🐕💚 Stats: One way: 2.8 miles Round trip: 5.6 miles Our time: 2 hours 45 minutes Difficulty: Easy to moderate, not too tiring We both loved this trail and feel it’s totally underrated — there aren’t many reviews online, but the experience was wonderful. Walking alongside the creek, crossing it again and again, and enjoying the cool shade made it a peaceful and fun hike. This is one we’d gladly do again! 🥾✨ Whether you're looking for a serene escape, a bit of light adventure, or a beautiful place to walk your dog, Gould Mesa Trail delivers. Just remember to bring water, wear appropriate shoes, and maybe an extra pair of socks — you might need them after all that creek‑crossing! 😉 #LosAngeles #LAHikes #HikingLA #WeekendAdventures #NatureEscapes #PasadenaLife #TrailVibes #OutdoorLA #SoCalHiking #ExploreLA #DogFriendlyHikes #WinterHike
