A Public Transport Adventure Guide
For those who prefer not to drive, the US offers surprisingly scenic and convenient travel options by train and bus. Here's a list of routes perfect for exploring without a car! 🚄 Train Travel 1️⃣ Coast Starlight, California San Francisco → Los Angeles Depart from San Jose for a roughly 10-hour journey. The classic handwritten tickets add a touch of romance 💌. Sit on the right side for breathtaking coastal views! 🌊 2️⃣ Brightline, Florida Miami → Orlando A smooth ride lasting about 5 hours (I call it the "slow rail" with comfort vibes 😌). 3️⃣ Amtrak Midwest Corridor Chicago → Milwaukee Only about 1+ hour each way—easy for a day trip! If you have extra time in Chicago, spend a day exploring Milwaukee’s Harley-Davidson Museum 🏍️. 4️⃣ Alaska Railroad Fairbanks → Anchorage Alaska never disappoints! Though in summer, I skipped the train to Seward and took a bus for a faster trip 🚌. 5️⃣ Sunset Limited (Not Yet Taken) New Orleans → Houston Departs around 9 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Houston by 6 PM. (I chose FlixBus instead, arriving around 2 PM ⏱️.) 🚌 Intercity Bus Travel 1️⃣ FlixBus / Greyhound My first Greyhound trip was over a decade ago from New York to Boston—back then, it was all about getting there, not comfort 😅. I still only take daytime buses for safety and views! ✅ Miami → Key West | Orlando → Sarasota → Tampa (Florida is doable without a car!). ✅ New Orleans → Biloxi | New Orleans → Houston → Austin → San Antonio (plenty of schedule options). 2️⃣ Groome Phoenix → Sedona Check timetables in advance for smooth travel planning 📅. 3️⃣ The Park Connection Motorcoach Anchorage → Seward The 7 AM bus usually connects to the 11:30 AM fjord cruise tour—pretty reliable timing! ⛰️🚢 Travel freely, explore widely—no car needed! #US #Florida #Miami
