This station is outdated and desperately needed improvement. Pros: -The indoor area has AC and includes many seats -Access to Sunrail and Amtrak Cons: - Outside roof leaks - No nearby food/drink options I think the Winter Park station should be considered as a model for other stations

An historical landmark, the Amtrak station at Orlando is spacious and easily accessible. It features unique architecture and the classic train station seating of old. An interesting feature is the remaining antique wooden telephone booths that stand empty.

Bathrooms are disgusting both in the Amtrak station and on the train. My train just started its route to New York from Miami. I am now boarding in Orlando and departing in Philadelphia. I chose not to use the restroom in the station because it was that disgusting and smelled terrible and decided to wait an hour until I boarded the train to use the facility hoping for better especially since they just started their route. I went to three different cars and all of them are absolutely disgraceful with both smell & sight. Not only do their bathrooms make you hold your breath so you won't gag, but they are a health and hazard issue as well. There is feces smeared on the seat, a puddle of urine on the floor, blood on another seat, a tampon on the floor, a dirty diaper left on the counter and no toilet paper in the one bathroom I finally broke down and used one of the times. My ride is 21 hours. We have stopped at several stations with no time to get off except for Jackson. My husband went to use their facilities inside and stated it was disgusting as well. We paid over $600 for our tickets together, and this was a terrible experience. I wouldn't eat on this train if you paid me if this is the standard of cleanliness the workers find acceptable. This is a safety issue. And don't get me started about the attendants and their manners. One told an 83-year-old woman to lift her own bag on the steps while loading into the car so my husband assisted her instead. Or contacting customer service during our last 20 hour ride from Philadelphia to Orlando after getting no where with the staff in regards to cleanliness and the fact that they were literally baking us to death inside of a car with the heater set on hell. We literally couldn't breathe. My husband and another woman near us needed their inhalers, and two other men were using their cap machines. Everyone was suffering, and they insisted that we stay in our car so we don't get left somewhere else, and they wouldn't open the cafe car for us to sit and be relieved. Absolutely no sleeping on that trip because we were suffocating. And customer service told me they would transfer me to someone else to assist with the matter but it took 9 hours and I missed the chat opportunity when they finally woke up to assist me and they closed out the chat as being a resolved issue I assume. Others in my car who have made complaints were told there's nothing that can be done. There are young children on this train who are forced to use these unsanitary restrooms and it is ashame that the workers don't care and are enjoying meaks together and having a great time while the rest of the paid customers are treated like crap. I was really hoping for an...

This station is nice renovated, landmark building of late 1920s, Spanish revival architecture with early Art Deco motifs... Located in Orlando Health area, well patrolled and secured!!! Uber, Lyft and taxis available, as well as Lynx 40 bus to Downtown Orlando and Americana Blvd neighbourhood, Millenia Mall, and Universal Parks!!! Accessible for persons with disabilities and restrictions, have restrooms, only Amtrak passengers traveling same day may be inside the station!!! Enough of seating and well lighted inside and outside. Sun Rail commuter railroad, have separate boarding area in other side of platforms. Sun Rail goes to Downtown Orlando, Lynx Central Station, Winter Park, Sanford, De Barry, Sand Lake station, Downtown Kissimmee, Poinciana. Prices to ride these Sun Rail 20 pairs of trains per day are very affordable, $2 within same county, plus $1 extra per add one county, they are maximum 4 counties served, so maximum ticket cost $5, minimum $2. This alternative way to Lynx buses and one of most fastest public transit in Sanford Orlando Kissimmee area!!! Runs Weekdays only. No Weekends!!! Trains are double levels, just 2 cars per train set attached for powerful Diesel!!! Service speed up to 79 mph, average 36 mph. Only 13 minutes from Downtown Orlando to Sand Lake, faster even, if you use a car!!! 32 minutes from Downtown Orlando to Kissimmee, where transfer plaza for buses to Celebration, Old Town, Poinciana, Florida Mall, Disney Transportation, Downtown Disney, Four Corners, West Gate, St Cloud!!! Remember Orlando Amtrak station is located like 2 miles from Downtown. 18 miles from Downtown Kissimmee and Amtrak station there!!! It's only 4.5 miles from Sand Lake Station and from there few buses runs fast to Airport, also to Florida Mall, South of International Drive area, Sea World!!! This 2 trains in each direction for Amtrak, 91/92 serving Miami, Tampa, Raleigh, Columbia, and all way down to NY, as well as more faster 97/98, what's goes through Fayetteville, Florence, Savannah, Orlando, Winter Haven, Miami, and all way down to NY. Both trains are popular and often sold out for coaches!!! 91/92 prone to be often late to NY and to Tampa and Miami!!! 97/98 is more faster and more daytime schedule for NY and Orlando Miami. Less prone...

I'm torn giving such a high rating, as it's not completely deserved. I'm writing specifically about the Amtrak Train 97 that I rode from Alexandria, Virginia to Orlando, Florida. The quality of service is fantastic. Robert, the attendant is really nice, and the staff at the stations are also great. The train is well maintained and clean, so five stars all around for that.

The only problem I had was with the food... If it could even be called that. I took the overnight train, so breakfast was in order. I got a coffee and bagel with cream cheese. Let's start with the coffee. Never in my life have I had coffee that you couldn't even smell!!! It was so old and tasteless! I'm fine with paying for instant coffee, if Amtrak wants to stay cheap, but what the hell was that being served?! It's as if the coffee had been exposed to air for weeks on end and lost everything qualifying it as a decent beverage. All it had left of coffee was the color. Truly awful.

Now the bagel with cream cheese. I'm disappointed that the bagel was handled without gloves, but what really turned me off was that it was simply microwaved, which wouldn't normally be a problem for me, but the bagel had the consistency of plastic. Not kidding, it didn't even dissolve like bread normally does when chewed. Every bite just kind of shrank in volume but retained a plastic-like texture. The cream cheese was just what could be expected coming out of a foil packet.... Like liquid white silicone.

So yeah, the food and coffee, especially, was astonishingly disgusting, and it saddens me to see such a low level of quality. I mean seriously, I'd have been ok with Folgers or Maxwell House, but please, Amtrak, fix the coffee! Maybe just give out instant packets with hot water? What I was given was truly unacceptable. I'd ride Amtrak for the service, but I'm going to have to bring my own food and beverage until Amtrak improves on the quality of...
