A Recently Opened Korean Tapas Spot
Finally visited this Korean tapas place in Coolidge Corner with friends recently. The ratings on Xiaohongshu seem pretty polarized, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. First, my personal take: portions are generally quite small, and the quality varies a lot between dishes… some were really tasty, but others were pretty average. Service and ambiance are nice though – feels suitable for a date, but maybe not worth a special trip just to try. Could be a convenient bite if you’re already shopping at Maruichi. 🍲 Galbi Jjim Let’s start with the dish everyone agrees is the best – the galbi jjim. The beef short rib is braised until incredibly tender, easy to cut and very flavorful. The seasoning leans sweet, so if you like dishes like red-braised pork, you can order this with confidence. That said, the portion is even smaller than expected – might not be enough to share if you’re with a group. 🌽 Corn Cheese This is another classic that’s tasty. The corn is nicely charred, and the cheese is fragrant. 🐚 Grilled Conch The grilled conch looks great in photos – they light it on fire when serving. But the taste is just okay – typical black pepper seafood flavor with a slightly burnt aftertaste. 🥘 Kimchi Odeng Kimchi fish cake soup – very sour and just average in flavor. 🦐 Raw Marinated Shrimp Also just okay. 🥃 Complimentary Kimbap & Banchan & Cinnamon Drink They gave a small piece of kimbap. The banchan (side dishes) were average. The complimentary pine nut cinnamon drink wasn’t good – the aroma was too strong. Service was good – ordering was quick and the staff were patient. You can confidently order the Galbi Jjim, but for other dishes, maybe lower your expectations. 📍 308 Harvard St, Brookline, MA 02446, United States #StudentFoodFinds #KoreanFood #Boston #BostonFood #BostonLife #BostonFoodExploration
