A Restaurant That Stole My Heart at First Sight

After coming across the octopus dish from La Corriente La Jolla, I skipped all those hyped spots like The Taco Stand and headed straight to this Mexican seafood spot—completely captivated by the photos! 💫 If you’re exploring La Jolla around lunch or afternoon, I’d recommend eating here first before strolling along the coast 🌊. I went after dark, and while many customers had reservations, we managed to snag a seat as walk-ins! The moment our octopus arrived, the reserved guests next to us couldn’t stop staring 👀—you could tell they were totally craving it! So glad I did my research and didn’t miss this hidden gem ✨. The staff weren’t overly friendly, but they were attentive—refilling ice water 🧊 and sauces promptly. 1️⃣ Zarandeado Octopus 🐙 The octopus was beautifully charred and smoky 🔥. Along with the roasted potatoes 🥔 and rice 🍚, we even used the complimentary taco tortillas 🌮 to wrap the octopus. We tried all the chili and taco sauces on the table—the green one packed the most heat 🌶️! 2️⃣ Soft Crab Shell Taco 🦀 I’d been craving soft shell crab noodles from a Thai place lately, but mixed reviews held me back… So when I saw this unique taco, I ordered it right away! Absolutely loved it—the fried aroma paired perfectly with the tall bottle of chili sauce in the shop 👍. We’d eaten at Tacos El Gordo in downtown San Diego for lunch—those double-layer corn tortillas 🌮 were seriously filling… so we weren’t too hungry by dinner and only ordered these two dishes. We noticed other tables had ordered a huge portion of guacamole 🥑, probably for dipping with chips or tortillas—it looked incredibly tempting 😍! #SanDiego #Foodie #SanDiegoTravel #Restaurant
