A Shanghai-Style Breakfast Spot Open Until 8:30 PM! 🥢
Auntie Qiu's Kitchen in LA 😌 You know the feeling... when you wake up in the afternoon and just really want to start your day by drowning a crispy fried dough stick in a bowl of sweet soy milk?! 😩 I looked everywhere, but all the breakfast places were already closed! Then I suddenly remembered this hidden gem!! I can't believe I haven't written about it until now. ✨ ❤️ Crab Roe Soup Dumplings (Xiaolongbao) They are packed—and I mean PACKED—with crab roe! 🦀 So fresh and tender, no weird fishy taste at all, and the wrapper is super thin. The price is reasonable and they're delicious! A perfect 100/100! 💯 ❤️ Fried Dough Stick with Glutinous Rice (Black Sesame) My first time trying this!! The youtiao is crispy + the mochi is incredibly soft and chewy + the black sesame adds a sweet fragrance. Oh my goodness! 😍 I'm definitely ordering an extra portion to take home next time! (For comparison, their regular rice cakes are just okay, but this fried dough stick with mochi is absolutely amazing!) ❤️ Scallion Oil Noodles No complaints at all! The rice noodles have a great texture—not mushy at all, nice and springy~ The flavor is just right. I added a braised lion's head meatball as a topping~ Very Shanghainese (sweet braised flavor, lol 😂). ❤️ Sweet Soy Milk + Fried Dough Stick The soy milk wasn't sweet enough for me! (I added an extra packet of sugar myself.. and it still wasn't very sweet 🥲) ❤️ Pan-Fried Pork Buns (Shengjianbao) The bottom is fried to a perfect crisp! The skin isn't too thick, and they're not greasy! Pour on that special vinegar~ Still very tasty! (But honestly, at this point, I was completely full. You could say all of the above is probably just the right amount for three people! 🫃) 👉 Auntie Qiu Kitchen 16 W Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801 I visited the Alhambra location.
