A Short Travelogue of Portland, Oregon

Day 1: Downtown Portland + Cannon Beach I started the morning wandering around downtown Portland, then walked to Case Study Coffee. I ordered an iced Americano and cold brew—both had a clean taste with a hint of nuttiness, smooth and really enjoyable ☕. In the afternoon, after picking up the rental car, I headed to Cannon Beach, where massive rocks dot the shore. The weather was cool, the sand soft underfoot, and the scenery was stunning 🌊. The area is mostly residential, with not many commercial spots. You can park at Haystack Rock Public Parking—it’s a free public lot, though spaces are tight and it’s a bit of a luck of the draw. But there are also plenty of street parking spots available 🅿️. Day 2: Mount Hood I was up early again at 8 AM, heading to Coava Coffee Roasters on the east side. I tried their pour-over coffee—it had a fresh, bright flavor with a slight acidity but no bitterness, really nice on the palate. The café has an industrial-style interior, and street parking here requires payment 💸. After coffee, I drove toward Mount Hood. On the way, I stopped at Multnomah Falls. Even though the official website says a reservation is required, no one actually checked ours (though it’s still recommended to book just in case). Next up was Panorama Point, easily the best-value viewpoint of my trip. It wasn’t crowded, and the view was wide open, offering a clear sight of Mount Hood 🗻🌲. Day 3: Bakery, Coffee, Japanese Garden & Winery First stop: Ken’s Artisan Bakery, where I bought the famous “Oregon Croissant” 🥐. Then, as per my daily coffee routine, I went to Sterling Coffee. Their cold brew was perfectly balanced and smooth. After visiting the Japanese Garden, I came back for a latte—it tasted like melted ice cream, rich and creamy🎋. In the afternoon, I visited Domaine Serene Winery. I chose the estate flight—there weren’t many people that day, and the staff member explaining the wines was patient, answering almost all my questions. We chatted so happily that they even gave me a little extra pour, which was a nice surprise 😊. After the tasting, I bought two bottles of red wine. Spend a certain amount, and you can get the tasting fee waived. With Oregon’s tax-free policy, it was overall a good deal. #Portland #CannonBeach #Coffee #Wine #CityWalk 🌟
