🌮 A Solo Taco Journey
Today I came to San Diego by myself and made a special trip to Tacos El Gordo in Chula Vista for lunch! 🌞 This place is super popular here, there’s often a line, so I joined the crowd to try it out~ The most recommended is the Adobada (spicy pork)! 🔥 I ordered this because you can watch the staff slicing the shawarma right in front of you—the meat is cut fresh from the rotating grill, piping hot, which feels very reassuring to see~ 😌 Plus, they give you lots of veggies: lettuce, onions, cilantro piled high, making it feel healthy to eat! 💚 But funnily enough, the guy wrapping it might’ve gotten a bit ahead of himself and gave me two tortillas—maybe the dough wasn’t sticky enough when he rolled it? 😂 I also ordered a Steak taco, mainly because I saw avocado 🥑 in the toppings and couldn’t resist! I ate this one second, and maybe because it sat for a bit, it was a little cold and the meat was slightly tough, not as juicy as the first Adobada~ 😅 Still pretty good though, with plenty of avocado, smooth and creamy—yum! If you’re a girl traveling solo in San Diego and just want to taste something delicious, I think one Adobada is enough! 👍 The portion is quite generous, it tastes great, won’t make you too full, and you’ll still have room for a Mexican drink 🍹~ All in all, it was a very satisfying solo trip lunch experience! ❤️ Recommended for you if you also love Mexican food~ #SanDiegoFood #MexicanTacos #SoloTravel #FoodDiary #HealthyLunch #TravelFoodie #TacosElGordo
