A Super Retro Steakhouse Bar Straight Out of "Gatsby"
Last night, I visited Born and Raised at a street corner in Little Italy. As soon as I stepped inside, it felt like traveling back in time—glamorous chandeliers, dark wood decor, and velvet seats reminded me of the movie The Great Gatsby. So vintage and luxurious ✨. Though it’s known for steak, it’s also a fantastic bar! The drink menu is exceptionally long, featuring everything from classic cocktails to modern creations 🍹. Even if you’re not dining, it’s a great spot just for drinks. We ordered two signature whiskey sours, smooth and perfect for the vibe 💫. For appetizers, we tried the Dirty Hashbrown—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor! The warm bread served with butter was so comforting 🧈. The onion soup was rich and satisfying, with gooey melted cheese on top 🥘. The most fun part was the Caesar Salad! A handsome server wheeled a cart to our table and prepared it fresh right in front of us 🥗. Watching him mix the dressing and sprinkle cheese felt like a show, and the salad tasted incredibly fresh 👨🍳. For the main course, we chose the Beef Wellington for two. This dish requires patience—about 45 minutes to an hour—but it’s absolutely worth the wait! The golden, flaky pastry wrapped around tender, juicy beef, paired with mushroom sauce, created delicious layers of flavor 🥩. The portion was generous, perfect for sharing. In the end, the cost was around $100 per person. Considering the ambiance, service, and food quality, I think it’s great value! If you love retro vibes and hearty meals, this is a wonderful choice 👍. 📍 Address: 1909 India St, San Diego, CA 92101 #SanDiegoFood #Steakhouse #RetroBar #LittleItaly #DateNight #FoodReview #BeefWellington
