A Surprising Day Trip to Tacoma! 🌧️➡️😍

I changed my plans last minute because of cloudy weather — originally meant to go to North Cascades, but decided to give Tacoma a try instead. I was worried it might be boring… but it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise! 🏛️ Children’s Museum of Tacoma Compared to Seattle’s children’s museums, this one is a bit smaller — but it’s FREE! 🆓🎉 A great spot for families with young kids. Simple, fun, and no need to worry about tickets. 🚲 Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park We rented a 4-person Surrey bike and rode around the peninsula — so much fun! 🚴‍♀️🌊 The views were beautiful, and the pace was relaxed. Perfect for a chill afternoon with family or friends. 🛝 Stairs & Slides This famous giant slide did not disappoint! Climb up, slide down — silly fun for both kids and adults 😂👧🧒. Nearby, the Japanese Garden and Rose Garden are also worth a visit — peaceful and pretty 🌸🌹. 🪁 Chambers Bay Park This park truly stood out — spacious, green, and full of energy! Lots of people were flying kites 🪁, and the wide-open views gave it a grand feel. Great for a walk or just sitting on the grass and relaxing. 🍽️ Harvest Buffet We ended the day with an all-you-can-eat feast! The price was very reasonable, and the food was satisfying. A full belly with a small bill — can’t beat that! 🥢🍉 Even though I didn’t make it to those famous Mt. Rainier photo spots, Tacoma won me over with its laid-back charm, green spaces, and family-friendly vibes.
