A Surprisingly Delightful City 🌆
Ancona ❤️ Originally added to the map just because I was worried Casper might be uncomfortable on an eight-hour train ride 🏙️. Among all the seas I've visited with pzyy, my favorite is still the sea in Croatia 🌊. But this is the other side of it 🌟. After visiting Cattedrale di San Ciriaco, we naturally wandered to Ingresso Parco del Cardeto lato Duomo 🤓. Along the way, we were treated to stunning views—enjoying the spring breeze by the sea in the off-season was truly relaxing. The dogs ran freely, and Casper was so happy 🐶. The sunset from our hotel was breathtaking 🌅. ❣️ The biggest surprise? This restaurant—absolutely a must-try! We had dinner here two nights in a row. ❣️ 🐟 Osteria Del Pozzo 📍 Via Bonda, 2 C, 60121 Ancona AN 👀 On the first night, an Italian local sat next to us with two Serbian colleagues, enthusiastically introducing Ancona in English. That’s how we discovered the most amazing dish of our trip: 🐟 Tomato-Curry Monkfish (must be reserved a day in advance—the grandpa owner buys it fresh and even calls if there’s any issue the next day). The buttery bread was crispy and perfect for soaking up the sauce. As someone who usually dislikes fish and finds seafood too fishy, it’s rare for me to love a dish like this. The tomato and curry were perfectly balanced, the potatoes were soft and tender, and the mussels and clams, though not plump, were sand-free and full of flavor. It was my first time trying monkfish—the texture was springy, and the meat soaked up the rich sauce beautifully. Absolutely delicious! 🤤 (28💶) Ancona was such a pleasant surprise that I already want to return in summer when the flowers are in full bloom—it must be even more stunning 🌟. 🏨 Hotel NH Ancona Via Rupi di Via XXIX Settembre, 14, 60122 Ancona AN #Italy #TravelItaly #ItalianCuisine #Ancona
