A Taste of Bratislava: Some Food Recommendations
This country is really quite niche and often overlooked, haha. Overall, this small city retains characteristics from the Soviet era, with a color palette that leans towards pastels, giving it a fresh and summery vibe—perfect for a summer photo trip.❤️❤️❤️ To be honest, the attractions aren't particularly impressive. You can see everything in a day, but there are some slopes, so walking around can be a bit tiring. However, there's a café I'd like to recommend called Eleven , located near the castle. It's a bookstore that also sells coffee. The atmosphere is very cozy, the staff are super friendly, and the prices are reasonable. It's a great place to take a break when you're tired from walking.😁😁😁 The currency is the euro (€), and I feel that the prices are a bit higher than the local consumption level. When a city doesn't have much to offer in terms of attractions, I tend to focus on the food. I'd recommend a local favorite restaurant that a local friend took me to, called Divny Janko . The prices are very reasonable. You must try their signature drink, kolofa , which tastes a bit like Taiwan's Black Pine Cola. I also recommend an authentic Slovak restaurant called U Sedliaka (unfortunately, it was closed that day because the owner had something to attend to, so I didn't get to try it, but my friend highly recommends it).🤓🤓🤓 The Christmas market starts at the end of November. I suggest trying some traditional Eastern European foods: 1. Strudla : A Slovak cheese strudel with a sturdy pastry crust. It has a unique texture and comes in various flavors. The one in the picture is blueberry-flavored. 2. Lokše : These are Slovak pancakes, which come in both sweet and savory fillings. The pancake itself has a slightly salty taste. I recommend trying the foie gras and duck breast flavors for savory, and the chocolate and peanut butter flavors for sweet. 3. The hot chocolate here is quite delicious, and so is the mulled wine. The alcohol content in some of the mulled wine can be as high as over 70 degrees (the prices are relatively cheaper compared to Christmas markets in other countries).😀😀😀 #Slovakia #Bratislava #BratislavaTravel
