A Taste of History: Iconic Century-Old Restaurants Abroad 🕰️
As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on some of the legendary century-old restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of visiting—whether during my time as an international student or while traveling for conferences abroad. 🇦🇹 Figlmüller – Restaurant Bäckerstraße 📍 Bäckerstraße 6, 1010 Wien, Austria Famous for its Wiener Schnitzel, this Viennese institution serves a pork cutlet so large it practically hangs off the plate! A truly iconic experience in the heart of Vienna. 🐷✨ 🇺🇸 Buckhorn Exchange 📍 1000 Osage St, Denver, CO 80204, USA Steeped in Wild West history, this Denver landmark offers unique Rocky Mountain specialties like alligator tail and elk steak. A step back in time with mounted animal displays and rustic charm. 🦌🌄 🇺🇸 Mi Tierra Cafe y Panaderia 📍 218 Produce Row, San Antonio, TX 78207, USA Recommended by a local guide, this vibrant Tex-Mex eatery has been serving the community for over 80 years. While it leans more toward Tex-Mex than traditional Mexican, the festive decor and lively atmosphere make it a must-visit! 🌮🎉 Overall, these historic spots share a few things in common: reasonable prices, consistently good quality, and a comforting sense of tradition. They may not always be “mind-blowing,” but their reliability and charm are exactly why they’ve stood the test of time. 👏🍴 #LifeIsAnExperience #Vienna #Denver #SanAntonio #StudyAbroadLife #HistoricEats
