A Tourist’s Tale in Calgary: Almost Didn’t Leave❗️

👂🏻 Here’s what happened: After visiting Banff, I set aside 4 full days in Calgary, wanting to really soak in the city. Little did I know, once I started exploring, I practically didn’t want to go back❗️ 🏙️ About the City: My first impression of the whole city? "Wide" roads, "big" malls, "many" buildings, and a "high" elevation❗️ Thanks to its elevation, looking down at the downtown core from the highway—paired with those wide roads—it’s such a refreshing, uplifting sight 😍 📍 Crescent Heights Lookout Point You must visit this viewpoint❗️ Stay from sunset until dark; the city’s bustle unfolds right before your eyes 👍 📍 George C. King Bridge Go at night❗️ It’s great for nightscape photos. 📍 Wonderland Sculpture The face sculpture—worth a quick look, that’s it 🆗 📍 Central Library The library is worth a visit❗️ The interior design is super unique—you can walk up and take the elevator down ✅ 🔋 There are free electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot across the street. 🏠 About Housing: A big part of this trip was checking out houses❗️ I looked at no fewer than ten, and honestly, the more I saw, the more I liked them 😍 1️⃣ The single-family home in Photo 10 is new, priced at over 820k. The layout, size, and decor were all perfect—and for just over 800k? Compared to Toronto’s housing prices, it’s honestly heartwarming❗️ 2️⃣ The house in Photo 11 had me obsessed: high ceilings, elevated height, lake views, an upgraded walk-in closet, and built by a top developer. It’s only 1.2-1.4 million—if this were in Toronto, it’d easily be over 3 million❗️ 💰 For a new house, you only need to put down a $1,000 deposit to reserve the spot. Next, you pay 5%, and later they’ll contact you to choose custom upgrades. The house is ready in about 11-12 months. I seriously had the urge to put down the deposit right then❗️ Compared to Toronto’s prices, it’s just too good ✅ 🍽️ About Food: I’d heard Calgary is a "food desert" compared to Toronto, but overall, I was satisfied: ZCREW Cafe: My favorite brunch spot. The tuna bowl was amazing, the fried chicken waffle was delicious, and the drinks looked great too ✅ Hanbo Korean Noodle: The soup is good, but don’t order the dumplings❗️ Namo Cafe Bistro: The rice with hash browns is seriously fantastic ✅ Ma La Ju (Spicy House): Great service and decent flavor, but portions are small 🆗 Queens Breakfast Cocktails: Very average and overpriced ❌ #TorontoLife #LivingInToronto #Toronto #Calgary #Ontario #Canada #Banff #RoadTrip #ON #UniversityOfToronto
