A Week of Food in the Maldives 📝
Hulhumale Working/living in Hulhumale Checked in at Lianshuiqing Beef Noodle Soup 🍜—delicious, and their dried noodles saved my life 🙏! All kinds of tomato and egg noodles here use their dried noodles. Coca-Cola chicken wings: I searched many supermarkets, only to find chicken wings sold right downstairs. 90 MVR for a big pack, 15 MVR for a cola—it turned out great 🍗! Making Coca-Cola chicken wings was one of the most satisfying meals I’ve cooked in the Maldives, super fulfilling 😌. recommended milk, bought at Red Wave Supermarket 🛒—6 RMB a bottle. The original flavor is a bit like Wangzai milk, but not quite the same. Chocolate flavor is less tasty than original 🥛. Coconuts bought at Hulhumale Market: A friend helped pick them, and they were sweet after being chilled 🥥. Later bought two in Male—20 RMB each, but I didn’t know how to pick, not very sweet 😅. Surviving on microwave-baked potatoes/sweet potatoes and all kinds of microwave meals . Also, tomatoes and eggs—simple, quick, and I eat them non-stop 🍅🥚. Since there’s no pork, I’ve lost my comfort zone 🥺. Many beef products in supermarkets are pasty, and I don’t like pasty meat 🥩—so I can’t bring myself to cook stir-fried beef. Airport Island On the first night here, I had a big burger 🍔—huge and thick, but I couldn’t finish it. You can drink alcohol here 🍻. Male While wandering in Male, I found this restaurant in the guide (Picture 2)—it’s a buffet 🥘. Fried rice 🍚 and grilled skewers 🍢 are delicious, and the curry chicken my colleague ordered is good too 👍. #Hulhumale #MaldivesWork
