Acadia đ« Bar Harbor | Food & Shopping Special
In my last post, I summed up the 5-day, 4-night road trip experience (pure sightseeing version) for us NYC workers visiting Acadia National Park. Today, letâs talk about the delicious food and fun shopping in the charming town of Bar Harbor! A Little Regret (But a Reason to Return!) The only regret from this trip was not staying in Bar Harbor itself đ. Since we stayed far away, no one could drag themselves out of bed early enough to catch the sunrise at Cadillac Mountain (plus, sunrise tickets are so hard to get during peak season!). If weâd booked a town hotel with an ocean view, we couldâve woken up right to the sunrise and sipped blueberry beer on the balcony while watching the sunset đ . But hey, a little regret on a trip is just a perfect excuse to come back somedayâso Iâve made peace with it! Bar Harbor: Evening Vibes & Waterfront Views Bar Harborâs downtown stays open longer than I expectedâmost shops close around 9 PM, though a few cozy spots shut up shop by 5 PM. We never stayed on the mountain after dark (it just didnât feel safe), so for all 3 days in Acadia, we headed to the town every night to eat and wander đ¶. The Bar Harbor waterfront is supposed to have amazing ocean sunsets on clear days⊠but unfortunately, we had nothing but cloudy skies the whole time âïž. No sunset views for us, but the quiet, misty waterfront still had its own calm charm! Food in Bar Harbor: No Bad Meals, Just Full Bellies We didnât have a single bad meal in Bar Harborâmaybe itâs because we were exhausted from hiking, or maybe the foodâs just that good! Either way, every bite felt satisfying. And compared to NYCâs prices? It was so kind to our wallets đ°. P.S. There are tons of wild blueberries on the mountainâwe picked a few to try, and they were delicious! No wonder Maine blueberries are famous đ«. Shopping in Bar Harbor: Cute Finds & âTrashâ Treasures The shops in Bar Harbor have great taste! I picked up stickers, postcards, playing cards, and a graphic tee (I totally showed it off to my coworkers at the officeâthey loved it! đ). I even grabbed some free âtrashâ (like old flyers or small brochures) to use in my junk journal laterâlittle souvenirs that cost nothing but feel special. Bonus: Acadia Is Super Dog-Friendly! On a side noteâAcadia is such a dog-friendly park! We got to pet so many cute pups during our trip đ¶. It made every hike and town stroll even happierâtotal mood booster! Our Top Food & Drink Recommendations in Bar Harbor đŽ đŠ Side Street: Must-tries are the Ahi Tuna Wrap, Fish Tacos, Lobster Stew, and Lobster Roll. The lobster meat is fresh and juicyâclassic Maine seafood at its best! đ Rosalie's: Their Pepperoni Pizza is cheesy, crispy, and perfect for sharing after a long day of hiking. đ„Ż Choco-Late: Grab Birria Beef Tacos (rich and flavorful!) and an iced latteâgreat for a quick lunch or snack. đ« Soda: Maine Root > Old Soaker (Old Soaker is way too sweet!). And donât skip MDI ICE CREAMâs blueberry ice creamâcreamy, sweet, and packed with blueberry flavor. đ Best Souvenir Spot: Head to Hannaford, a local chain supermarket.
