Went to the Square and while looking for parking when the neon of the Side Street Grill caught my eye. I love spontaneity, so I said to my date, let's check it out.
The place look friendly when we went inside we saw a diverse mix of patrons and we were instantly comfortable. A quick look at the menu told us our instincts were right.
I had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo, my lovely date had the Chicken Portobello, with garlic mashed potatoes and the chefs choice vegetable medley.
Our food was delivered very quickly for a Saturday night. As we both sampled our respective dishes, the table became very quiet.
The Alfredo sauce was thick and delicious, the Blackened Chicken seasoned perfectly. Surprisingly, it's hands down the best Chicken Alfredo dish I've had all year!!
My lovely date had the same experience. In fact she commented OMG several times as she enjoyed the Chicken Portobello and sides. I have to point out that this phrase has not been heard by me before at the dinner table...need I say more?
Check out this place before the rest of Memphis discovers it. You won't be...
Read moreI have since changed from a four star to a one. Since Covid 19 has happened, this place has gone downhill when it comes to cleanliness. My experience recently was horrible. We were told to sit at any available table and if it was dirty someone would come and clean it. We saw a table and sat down. There was a gentleman that was working the area but did not acknowledge us, come to find out, we were not technically in his section. We asked if he could clean the table on general principal and he says ,you are not in my section. So we are still at a dirty table. More time passes by and another waitress comes by and says I'll be right with you. We had to go the manager just for the table to be cleaned. A 15 to 20 min wait that should have been taken care of before we sat down. Our table was wiped down with a wet rag and no spray!!! I should have left then, but I was with others and I do have hand sanitizer. They young lady finally comes back to take our order, only to be rushed because the kitchen closes at 10:00 and will reopen in...
Read moreThis place has really gone downhill over the past few years. I recently dined here on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon. Our server was working a table or two outside and seemed to be concentrating on them. While we waited (and waited and waited) for someone to take our order, we had to listen to the incessant banging of slamming doors as servers went from outside to inside and back again. This was quite annoying. Then we overheard 2 staff members talking about how one of them smelled like "reefer". Well, ok.... We finally were allowed to order our food - salad for one of us and pancakes for the other - and the food was ok - not great, but not bad. Unfortunately, I lost my appetite as there were gnats flying all around us and we constantly had to swat them with our hands. So I couldn't finish the salad. The bathroom was out of soap. We had to...
