Adelaide|5 Days 4 Nights Travel Guide
Just got back from the trip and went straight to take my IELTS exam. Finally had time to put together this travel guide after the test! 💙 Day 1 Arrived in Adelaide at 10 AM—felt like traveling back in time half an hour ⏰. Took a bus to Hilton; it only took 30 mins. Checked in early successfully 🏨. The airport is very close to the city, transportation is super convenient. Hilton is right next to Chinatown. Ate at Xiang Zhi Wei—the Spicy Chicken Gizzard Rice Noodles were WAY TOO SPICY 🌶️😵! I can handle spice, but I could only manage a few bites. The Wild Pepper Beef was milder. After lunch, did some citywalk 🚶♀️. The city is really small—I hadn’t even finished my ice cream 🍦 by the time we finished exploring! Had dinner at Dao Xiang… not tasty at all 😒. 💙 Day 2 Rented a car from Avis to Victor Harbor 🚗. Got a Corolla for $60/day with full insurance. Total: $153, plus a $200 deposit. (The rental service was terrible—gonna make a separate post about that 😤). But gotta say—driving in South Australia is amazing! Few people, few cars, great road conditions 🛣️✨. Took a little over an hour to Victor Harbor. The main attraction is the horse-drawn tram 🐎🚋 and the granite rocks. The tram is actually mechanical—the horse is just for show lol. Overall a very chill coastal town—worth visiting! 💙 💙 Day 3 Kangaroo Island day tour 🐨🇦🇺. Joined an English-speaking tour: $373 per person including ferry and light meals. The bus picked us up at 6:15 AM 🚌, didn’t get back to the hotel until past 10 PM—super intense day 😮💨. Most time spent on the bus or ferry. Just like tours in China: “Sleep on the bus, pee at the stops” 😂. But the views were beautiful 🏞️—got to pet koalas up close, feed kangaroos, and see sea lions! 💙 Day 4 Went to Hahndorf German Village 🏡. Direct bus available—very convenient. Lots of cute little shops. Ate delicious green apple ice cream from a shop run by an elderly couple 🍏🍦—made with real fruit, you can taste the pulp! Also tried beer and pork knuckle 🍺🍖. The knuckle was just okay—went mainly because “we’re already here” 😆. A nicely dressed old lady promoted her lavender products: hand cream, essential oil, etc. She said she grows the lavender herself 💜. Fair prices. I asked about hair oil—she honestly said she wasn’t sure if it suited my hair type. No pushy sales—very (conscience) 👍. 💙 Day 5 Winery tour and tasting at Penfolds 🍷—$35 per person. Booked a 10 AM English tour (Chinese also available). The tour lasted about an hour. Afterward, tasted 7 types of wine—couldn’t tell much difference though 😂. Flight back to Melbourne at 4 PM. Before heading to the airport, ate at Liang Ji Congee Shop 🥣—super delicious! Their jianbing tasted just like the ones in China—almost wanted to eat two! 🇨🇳➡️🇦🇺 Overall impression: Adelaide is nice for travel, but I’d find it boring to settle in. Glad I didn’t choose to move here back then 🤭. #Adelaide #TravelAdelaide #TravelGuide #BlueHealingOcean #IslandLifeTips #RecordTheGoodLife #NewYearTravel
