Adelaide 4D3N Car-Free Travel Guide

A Quick Note: Some attractions are 20-30 mins away from the city by car. We used Uber since public transport could take 50-60 mins and would cut into our limited time. 🏠 Day 1: Hahndorf German Village (Experience: 🌟🌟) We arrived by plane in the morning and bought a bus card at the airport stop. πŸ’‘ Top-up online can be slow – better to top up in person at convenience stores or post offices. First stop: Hahndorf. Not recommended if you’re short on time. Restaurants took around an hour just to serve food (not even for a table!). Besides eating, there wasn’t much else to do. 🐨 Day 2: Cleland Wildlife Park & City Walk (Experience: 🌟🌟🌟🌟) We pre-booked tickets to Cleland – $33 AUD (student discounts available). The park is open every day except Christmas and extreme fire risk days. Follow the Loop Walk map (available at the entrance) to see all animals. Animal feed is $4 per bag – one bag is enough for two. Go counter-clockwise: you’ll pass kangaroos around 10:30 AM and reach the koala holding at 11 AM. πŸ˜” Sadly, it was too hot the day we went – koala holding was closed to avoid stressing them. Still, the koalas were adorable and the staff were super informative! 🚌 Only two shuttle buses go up and down per day. We took the 1:40 PM bus back. ⚠️ Uber up is easy, but getting one back from the mountain is tough – plan ahead! After the zoo, we visited: Central Market Art Gallery of South Australia State Library of South Australia All are within walking distance! At night, we celebrated New Year’s Eve at Glenelg Beach πŸŽ† πŸ’‘ The Moseley Beach Club (with beach loungers) was fully booked – book days ahead for the 5 PM slot to enjoy sunset views! 🌊 Day 3: Fleurieu Peninsula Tour (Experience: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟) We joined a day tour covering: Cave Beach: stunning white sand & turquoise water Victor Harbor: horse-drawn tram or scenic coastal walk d’Arenberg Cube: famous cube-shaped winery (was closed New Year’s Day – check ahead!) 🍷 Day 4: Penfolds Winery (Experience: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟) We booked the winery tour a few days in advance – spots are limited! The introductory tour is $35 AUD and includes: History talk Winery visit Wine tasting Choose between English or Mandarin sessions. Our Mandarin guide was lovely – highly recommend! #Adelaide #AdelaideTravel #TravelAustralia #Koala #WineryTour
