Adelaide Travel Guide 🍁

I’ve been to Adelaide three times – once by plane ✈️, and once on a kid-free road trip from Melbourne 🚗. On the way, we stopped at ❣️ Grampians National Park and stayed overnight. Day 1️⃣: Adelaide City Walk University of Adelaide – beautiful campus with a lake and the famous "PR Bridge" Adelaide Central Market 🛒 Rundle Mall 🛍️ State Library of South Australia 📚 Adelaide Botanic Garden 🌿 Art Gallery of South Australia 🖼️ – features original works by famous artists. My art-loving dad said the collection was impressive! Day 2️⃣: Hahndorf German Village 🍁 This place is stunning in autumn! Red maple leaves cover the historic streets – you can easily spend a morning here. Lunch at Hahndorf Inn – must-try pork knuckle + sausages 🍖 (book ahead!). Beer lovers can order a tasting flight 🍺. Visit Hahndorf Farm Barn nearby 🦌 – feed deer, alpacas, milk cows, and meet farm animals 🐓. Perfect for a family day! Day 3️⃣: Adelaide Farmers' Market Go on a Sunday if you can! Try the not-too-sweet donuts 🍩 and organic coffee ☕. Afternoon at Glenelg Beach 🌅 – gorgeous pier, sandy shores, and a Ferris wheel 🎡. Don’t miss Bottega Gelateria – amazing ice cream! 🍦 Book ahead at The Moseley Beach Club for cocktails with sunset views 🍹🌇. Day 4️⃣: Victor Harbour Experience the romantic horse-drawn tram 🐎🚃 – first ride at 10:30 AM, then every 20 mins. Buy tickets on-site. At the end, climb the stairs for epic ocean views and dramatic waves 🌊📸. Stop by The d’Arenberg Cube on the way back: $20 entry includes wine tasting 🍷 Ground floor: quirky art exhibits 🎨 Don’t miss the designed-to-impress bathrooms on the 2nd floor 😂 Staircase covered in art and mirrors – super photogenic! Rooftop Southeast Asian restaurant 🍜 🦘 Kangaroo Island Highly recommended! We went in 2018 and were blown away by the natural beauty 🏞️. Best to take your own car on the ferry.
