Adventures at Franklin Falls: Stepping into a Glacier š§
The ice waterfall is truly beautiful, and the water is incredibly cold too. š„¶ As the weather warmed up, the ice waterfall melted a bit, creating a small pond at the bottom. I thought the view was nice and wanted to get closer. Next thing I know, I stepped through the snow, and my whole left leg fell into the water. When I was pulled out, my shoe was filled with water. That was a bone-chilling experience! Luckily, my pants were waterproof, and I didnāt fall in all the way, just my foot got soaked. Also, since you canāt drive in during winter, the walk was much longer. The walk back with a foot of icy water⦠that was a whole new level of ārefreshingā. š šFranklin Falls Trailhead In winter, it seems you can only navigate up to this point, and then itās about a 4 or 5-minute walk to the actual trailhead. Donāt trust the parking spots recommended online too much; I followed one and saw police officers ticketing cars. Itās best to come early; itās really hard to find a spot on weekends. The trail isnāt difficult, but itās best to wear crampons after snow, and your clothes should be waterproof too. #WinterHiking #AroundSeattle #IceWaterfall #HikingPhotos #MeasuringTheWorldByHiking #IceAge
