Adventuring with My Pup at Diablo Lake!
We hit the road at 10 AM on Sunday and arrived at the North Cascades Visitor Center by 1 PM. Parked and took the 1.8-mile loop trail behind the visitor center—perfect for a quick hike with plenty of stops to snap photos of my camera-shy goofball Mochi by the lake. 🐕📸 The whole loop took about an hour, and the highlight? Catching strangers secretly taking pics of Mochi and overhearing a kid say, "Those pointy ears mean this dog is super smart!" —instant serotonin boost! 😆💖 Around 2 PM, we headed to Thunder Knob Trailhead. Near the road, there’s a hidden little cabin (with two random fishermen inside—unexpected!). Behind it, we found a floating dock, and guess what? Mochi bravely walked right onto it like a pro! For a usually timid pup, this was a HUGE win. 🎉 Final stop: Diablo Lake Vista Point. Warning—brutal winds and flying sand! 🌪️ Got dust in my eyes within seconds—hoods/hats/sunglasses are a MUST. Pup-Approved Highlights: ✔ Short, scenic trails (great for dogs with medium energy) ✔ Lots of photo ops (lake views + dock adventures) ✔ Unexpected wildlife encounters (humans included 😂) #SeattleDogs #GermanShepherd #NorthCascades #DiabloLake #HikingWithDogs #PNWAdventures #DogLife #OutdoorPups #ScenicHikes #PointyEaredGenius
