Affordable Western Dining for One in Boston's Depressing Winter ❄️

In winter Boston, it gets dark at 4:30 PM – cold and lonely 🥶. Taking advantage of a special day, I experienced a Western-style meal at Sycamore. Compared to five years ago, their menu prices have only increased by about 13.3%. Even after the increase, the prices are still considered affordable in today's Boston 💸. Cocktails range from $15-18, appetizers $17-22, and main courses (except beef) are mostly between $28-38. They don't enforce prepaid tips either, which is quite budget-friendly 🙌. The menu changes with the seasons 🍂. This time, the appetizer soup was a seafood bisque, topped with fish roe. The rich, creamy broth combined with the roe created a savory seafood flavor that really suited my Asian palate 🍲. Another appetizer pasta also had its own unique meaty aroma and a rich, cheese-coated texture. Honestly, this was my personal favorite 💖. The main course, bistro steak, is slightly higher in price. But in terms of portion and flavor, it's worth the money. The beef was cooked just right – slightly charred on the outside and tenderly pink inside 🥩🔥. If I weren't middle-aged and mindful of my health, I would've ordered another full course 😅. For the sake of wellness, I stuck to four cocktails for "health maintenance" 🍹.
