After 5 Years in LA, I Just Discovered This Gem of French Cuisine! 🇫
As someone who usually eats a lot of Chinese food, I can’t believe I missed this incredible French spot in LA for five whole years! I highly recommend Camelia, a French restaurant tucked away in the Art District with a slight Japanese fusion twist. It’s not overly formal—more of a casually elegant place perfect for a weekday dinner with friends or a romantic date. The dishes are served tapas-style, in small plates ideal for sharing. Here are some of my favorites: 1️⃣ Beef Cheek – So tender it melts in your mouth! The beef is braised until incredibly soft. 2️⃣ Croque Madame – A French classic: toasted bread with cheese, ham, and a perfectly runny egg inside. Honestly, even better than what I had in Paris! Though I’m lactose intolerant, it was too tempting to resist—and thankfully, no discomfort afterward! 3️⃣ Abalone Pot Pie – Topped with flaky pastry, filled with shrimp, abalone, and mushrooms in a rich broth. So flavorful—my favorite dish! The buttery crust balances perfectly with the light, savory soup. 📍 Restaurant: Camelia 📍 Address: 1850 Industrial St, Los Angeles, CA 90021 Have you been to Camelia?
