After A Seven-Year Wait, The Lucas Museum Of Narrative Art Has An Official Opening Date — Here’s When You Can Visit

After seven years of anticipation and a handful of pandemic-era delays, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is officially set to open on September 22, 2026. The $1-billion project from *Star Wars* creator George Lucas and Mellody Hobson has been steadily taking shape since 2018, and now the finish line is in sight. An Expanding Exposition Park ---------------------------- The Lucas Museum sits within an 11-acre campus that will bring new gardens by Studio-MLA, an amphitheater, a hanging garden, a pedestrian bridge, and updated entryways into the park. It’s one of two major projects transforming the area, joining the $400-million Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center currently rising next to the California Science Center. After the 2028 Olympics, the park is also set to receive a $352-million expansion of green space along Figueroa and MLK Jr. Boulevard.
