After a tiring shopping spree, let's drop by a Spanish bistro for a dr
I've been in Berlin for years, and every time I go shopping at Hackescher Markt, I pass by this street-side tapas bistro. In summer, the outdoor seating is always packed with diners. The reason I never tried it before? It looked too touristy, haha. Last year, a friend highly recommended it, so I finally added it to my list. Yosoy Tapas has a small storefront, but the interior is surprisingly spacious. However, the tables and chairs are too small, making it feel a bit cramped. It's perfect for snacks and drinks, but if you want a full meal, the tables are too small to fit all the plates. 🐙🦑🦐🦞🦀🐟🥔🫑 Sangria 0.5l – 12.9€ Sangria fruit red wine 🍷 For two people, the 500ml sharing portion is recommended. It's rich in fruit flavor, low in alcohol, and has a sweet and sour taste – perfect for a casual sip. Jamon de bellota iberico – 13.9€ A small plate of Iberian ham with bread and olive oil. Poor value for money – not recommended. Gambones al ajillo – 12.8€ 👍🏻 Garlic butter shrimp cooked with white wine. The large shrimp are fresh and springy, and the seasoning is excellent. Pulpo a la gallega – 14.9€ 👍🏻 Octopus 🐙 with fried baby potatoes 🥔. It's almost unseasoned, just sprinkled with some chili powder. The baby potatoes are delicious! They have a slightly crispy texture, very different from the usual soft and mashed potatoes, and a hint of sweetness. Their fried potato chunks are also popular. Pimientos de padron – 8.9€ 👍🏻 Fried green peppers 🫑. My friend and I love this dish the most. Sprinkled with sea salt, the peppers themselves are not spicy at all, and they get more fragrant with each bite. Paella de la casa – 24.6€ Two-person serving of Spanish seafood paella 🥘. It's nothing special, and the shell-on king prawn in the middle wasn't fresh. Poor value for money – not recommended. Summary: If you're shopping in the city center and looking for a nice place to have some snacks and drinks, this tapas restaurant is a good choice. However, if you're very hungry and want a filling meal, the per capita cost here will be slightly high. It's much more affordable to share with friends – remember to make a reservation in advance.
