YOSOY TAPAS BERLIN — Restaurant in Berlin

UPDATE: 2.5 years after my last visit (!) I recently got informed by Google that this restaurant utilizes the the services of a third party who, on behalf of the restaurant, complaint to Google that the restaurant is unable to ascribe my negative review of their place to a given time and place. Under the law, if I had been unable to proof that I was in fact a guest here over two years ago, Google had to remove this negative review. I am sure that the restaurant just tries it's best to react to negative reviews and that two years have now passed was just unfortunate and not a malicious way to get rid of negative reviews. However, it might be the case that I am not the only bad reviewer the Restaurant forgot to trace back for quite some time and that a lot of reviews might have been deleted because not everyone either has or is willing to put in the effort to provide proof of their visit two years later.

It therefore is reasonable to say that it is at least questionable in how far the reviews here reflect all experiences that have been taken place in this restaurant. This is also supported by the fact that the restaurant uses a third party to handle the complaints. Unfortunately as of today, I don't know who complained in there behalf. I'll update this review once I know more.

Original review (24.06.2020): Decided to go here for dinner with the family. Staff was extremely friendly and service was immaculate. However, we all expected higher quality food for the fairly expensive tapas. Meatballs lacked some flavour, like most other dishes, too. The vegetables plate looked a bit sparse for my taste. I think other people who reviewed this place must have gone to a different restaurant than we did.

First of all, we were greeted with a rude attitude that we should not have reserved through Google Maps and that our reservation did not matter because we made through Google Maps.

Then we were grudgingly shown to a table. We ordered a frozen daiquiri to share for 30 EUROS that was basically frozen strawberry juice. Barman did not consider to put some alcohol in it.

The food was average if anything and EXTREMELY OVERPRICED compared to what you get. 5 pieces of jumbo shrimp in some butter and uncooked garlic for 12 Euros. It felt like Switzerland.

Then three of our dishes did not arrive after 15 minutes. When we asked about it, the waiter told us pretentiously to chill and that it would come when it is ready.

Lo and behold, he went back to check on the food and brought out cold food plates. We got the attitude and the cold food.

Adding insult to the injury were the outrages tipping suggestions which went from 8% to 20%.

I've never felt so ripped off in Berlin and only a few times in my life. So if you want bad treatment and cold food with outlandish prices, you've found the right place.

In other words, I would not recommend this restaurant to my enemy. This place is a violation against humanity.

I changed my initial five-star review because they offered a free drink if we left a good review. The drinks did not arrive until we were finished our meal. They were very hesitant to actually give us the free drink but the drinks we paid for a brought out immediately. I ordered the manchego cheese which was labeled gluten-free but when it arrived it had a little cracker on it. I told them I could not eat the cracker and I needed new dish. The waiter picked up the cracker and said "No more gluten!". I then had to insist that I needed a new dish because I am coeliac. We asked for some tap water for the table but the waiter said he could only give us one little glass. There was five of us at the table. We got two bottles of water for the table and they cost €7.30 each. I am aware that top water is perfectly safe to drink in Berlin.

One of our dishes was forgotten and we did not get it until 15 minutes after we finished the rest of the meal. This was not taken off the bill which I think it should have been.
