Aix-en-Provence: The Capital of Provence 🇫🇷✨
Today we traveled from Avignon to Aix 🚌 - took the 8am BlaBlaCar bus since trains all required transfers through Marseille. The bus was faster and cheaper, BUT later found out there are direct frequent local buses too...so we woke up early for nothing! 😅 (Pro tip: Always double-check transport options!) Arrived in Aix to find our Airbnb wasn't ready for early check-in 🕙. Spent the morning chilling (literally) at the tourist info center ❄️. Note to travelers: Most historic buildings in Aix (like Marseille) don't have AC 🥵 - brutal in summer! Also no elevators - hauling big suitcases up narrow stairs = workout 💪 After visiting Avignon (2 days), Nîmes & Arles, honestly...we're a bit "small-town-ed out" 🏘️🏘️🏘️. Our ranking: 1️⃣ Avignon (Palais des Papes is epic!) 2️⃣ Arles (Van Gogh vibes) 3️⃣ Nîmes (amazing Roman arena) Aix's highlights? ⛲ The fountain in our first photo (so picturesque!) 🎨 Learning more about Cézanne - this was his hometown & painting grounds Final thoughts: Charming but not mind-blowing after other Provençal towns. Maybe we're just templed out? 😴 Still glad we came though! #ProvenceDiaries #AixEnProvence #SouthOfFrance #TravelTips #NoACStruggles #ArtHistory #SummerInEurope
